After graduating from the University of Auckland in 1999, Caroline started her career as an in-house accountant for a pharmaceutical company in 2000. Within 3 years, Caroline rose through the ranks from Assistant Accountant, to Financial Accountant, to the Finance Manager, looking after a team of 15.
Since then, Caroline has spent the better part of 2 decades forging a career in corporate finance as an expert in trading profits; compliance and governance; foreign exchange hedging; trans-border transactions; accounting systems and statutory reporting. After spending 8 years in the United Kingdom, holding senior financial posts for 3 big proprietary trading houses (Refco Europe, Marex Financial and TransMarket Group), Caroline returned home to NZ. She spent 9 years serving as the Financial Controller for a French based wool exporting company in Christchurch.

While in Christchurch, Caroline has worked, raised her 2 children, successfully completed a Masters in Business Administration (2017) and served widely in her community (treasurer for a community pre-school; manager for a junior league team; Sunday school teacher for her local church and a volunteer for a women’s outreach ministry).
Caroline’s 20+ years in finance has given her an excellent understanding of corporate systems, solid experience in accounting requirements (including IFRS), adeptness diagnosing and ensuring industry compliance as well as invaluable foreign currency expertise.
She successfully runs her husband’s electrical business: Great North Electrical Limited; runs her own corporate facing business: Cas Business Consulting which also has a community facing arm: Mautu Business Services.
Through Cas Business Consulting and Mautu Business Services, Caroline pivots both her solid corporate background with her passion for serving people and the community.
